Congratulations to Jessica

Tuesday, 10th February and I was online using Twitter (my new addiction) and also checking out my Orkut profile when I saw Jessica celebrating her approval on the entrance exam of UFG. I got so happy on seeing that, that I almost picked up the phone to give her a ring. I love when my (ex)students achieve something they were looking forward to and Jesus, I got really happy when I saw that Jessica had passed the so called "vestibular" and will start coursing Sistemas de Informação.

Jéssica, I wish you the very very very best in this new phase of your life. You'll meet new people, study harder and harder, make new friends (I hope you don't forget the old ones) and you'll see how great it is to study at UFG. I can see you running away from the chimps, having lunch at RU (a.k.a. bandeIjão), spending your afternoons at Biblioteca Central and also learning new lessons of life that will make you much more mature.

Congratulations, my dear. I always knew you'd pass and I was crazy to write and publish this informal message just to greet this magnificent person and student you are.

Good luck and count on me for everything you need to survive UFG.

Hugs and kisses,
Aurélio.

(Dangers of) Socialising online

Nowadays, many people are getting "connected" and tend to spend more and more hours online. In your opinion, can staying always online be dangerous to face-to-face relationships?

Crazy Inventions

Hello people!

How about talking about inventions like this one presented in the video?

Click on "Comments" and leave a message responding to the following question: If you were an inventor, what would you invent? How would it work? Why would you invent it?

By the way, here you are Marcello, Mayara and Izabel. The picture was taken yesterday. Thank you a lot, guys.

This week's dilemma...

Homework: This problem comes from a newspaper column where people write in with a problem, and other members of the public give their advice. Read the problem. What advice would you give? (Answer in the "comments" page.)

Do I have to act my age?

My name is Polly and I'm 47. I am single, and my children have left home. I am very successful in my career, and have a lot of friends, but I'm not satisfied. I long to change my life. I want to live abroad, paint, and write poetry, but my friends tell me I should stop being silly and act my age. What should I do?

Power Express

Hello Guys, how are you doing?

Today, when I finished the class I decided to change the name of our class blog. Instead of Lélio and his pupils, I thought about something original and not so possessive... Despite being my students, you're not my possession, lol. Then, I thought about Power Express, which has to do with you.

So, what do you think?

See you soon.

who wants to be a pop star?

Hello there, it's Jessica!

Today was a good day, because we learned the difference between "seems and looks like". We had a debate between "A;B' OR 'B;D" in the activity A7.2.

The teacher was more handsome because he had had a haircut. And he was happy because our class blog was not canceled due to violation of BLOGGER terms of use.

things we said today

Hi,

The class today was very difficult and nice. We learned many things, for example: who invented the radio, the television, the ball point pen, and all that jazz.

I'm feeling nervous because it´s my first time publishing information in our class blog.

See you later, alligator!
